Cost Less arrest involves concealed knife
Handcuffs

A Cost Less Foods store visit made by Carlos Cruz, 40, of Ceres, resulted in his arrest on Thursday evening, July 30. That's because he helped himself to muffins and carried a pen knife into the store.

Cruz bought a tall can of beer and walked out into the parking lot where he drank it. He reportedly came back in the store where he "intimidated employees" and started eating muffins without buying them, said Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jose Berber. Clerks called police at 9:52 p.m. After Cruz was full, said Sgt. Jose Borges, he walked out and was stopped by the police. Because he was on active probation, police searched Cruz and him with a pen knife. He was charged with possession of an illegal weapon and commercial burglary.
