Methamphetamine was found on the driver who climbed out of a canal he crashed into Sunday evening.

Sergio Rios, 41, of Ceres, was driving on Hatch Road near Central Avenue at 8:31 p.m. Callers to 911 reported that the driver got out and was walking away from the scene. Officers arrived and stopped Rios, who admitted he had been driving the car and ran into the canal. He appeared to be intoxicated. A search turned up drugs, which led to his arrest for DUI and possession of narcotics.
