Driver flees after hitting woman, found and arrested

A man who fled allegedly struck a pedestrian at Pine Street and El Camino Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 27, and then left the scene was arrested a short time later.

A woman who was walking her bike across the road in a cross walk at 3:10 p.m. was struck by a car which was making a left turn from Pine onto El Camino. The driver, Robert Guinn, 45, of Ceres, stopped momentarily but then left the scene. The victim, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, took out her cell phone and snapped a photo of the car. Police found Guinn on Don Pedro Road. He was positively identified as the suspect and was arrested and booked for hit-and-run accident causing great bodily injury and driving without a license.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
