Ceres Police say that a woman who was hit by a car while riding her bicycle on Sunday evening was so intoxicated that she later did not remember being struck.

At 10:04 p.m. police were notified of the crash at Whitmore and Joy avenues. The reporting party believed that the bicyclist was intoxicated. Officers were en route but the parties left the scene and traveled westbound on Whitmore. Moments later a AM/PM clerk reported a heavily intoxicated female had entered the store and making a disturbance.

Police found Megan Overcash, 26, of Ceres, was so intoxicated that she was unable to stand on her own nor speak in complete sentences. She also could not say if she had been hit by a car.

After being checked out by medical experts Overcash was transported to the county Public Safety Center where she was booked for public intoxication.
