DUI charge comes after stop sign ran

A 52-year-old Ceres driver was arrested Sunday afternoon for drunken driving after an officer stopped him for running a stop sign at Moffett Road and Caswell Avenue.

At 3:01 p.m. Officer Kamalpreet Gill stopped Jose Alba at Thomas and Moffett. Officer Gill believed Alba was intoxicated and had him complete several field sobriety tests. Alba reportedly had a blood alcohol level of 0.15 percent. He was booked for driving under the influence and driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level above .08 percent.
