A 21-year-old Ceres man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after he hit a house near the intersection of Whitmore and Joy avenues New Year’s Eve.

At 10:30 p.m. a Nissan Altima had gone off the road through a yard, glanced off a house and came to rest in the front yard. Officer Jessica Graham contacted the driver, Armani Rivera, 21, of Ceres, who displayed symptoms of intoxication. A breathalyzer test confirmed that Rivera was twice the legal limit. 

Damage to the house was minimal.
