DUI suspect crashes into two poles on Service Road
Ceres Cop Car

A car driven by a suspected drunken driver was traveling on Service Road so fast that it sheared off two utility poles after drifting early Thursday morning.

The solo crash occurred at 2:24 a.m. near Stanislaus Farm Supply. Officers found the driver sitting on a curb with two citizens who stopped to help. The investigation determined that Feliciano Vazquez, 29, of Modesto, was speeding eastbound on Service Road when his car left the road just east of the train tracks where he ran into the two utility poles. The poles were severed at the base causing power to be interrupted to the area.

Officers said Vazquez was intoxicated and registered a Blood Alcohol Concentration of 0.17. He was treated for minor injuries and then booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on charges of DUI, and DUI with a BAC above .08 percent.
