Two men were arrested early Monday morning, Feb. 8 after they admitted to throwing large river rocks at parked cars along at least three Ceres streets.

The first report of vandalism was reported at 12:40 a.m. with one witness saying men in a tan-colored Chevy Blazer rolled by and lobbed rocks at vehicles. A short while later Ceres Police Sgt. Travis Hudson pulled over a pickup matching the description at River Road and Richland Avenue. Inside the vehicle were rocks.

Cole Tyler, 25, of Modesto, and Devon Kelley, 30, of Ceres, admitted they had been driving around throwing river rocks into windshields of parked cars. Both were booked on charges of felony vandalism.

Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Keith Griebel said the damaged cars were parked on Calcagno Street, Running Lane and Glasgow Drive. He said reports of damage kept streaming in past 6 a.m. when owners were waking up to the damage.
