Ceres Cop Car

A 31-year-old Ceres resident known as a heavy methamphetamine user was arrested Wednesday afternoon, March 30 after he allegedly ripped metal security bars out of the window of the Chevron station on Mitchell Road.

Dispatchers received a 4 p.m. call of a man running into traffic in the area of Mitchell and Fowler roads. When police arrived they recognized Talwinder Bains, who according to Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. James Yandell is a "heavy meth user and almost always under the influence." Bains was uncooperative with officers who tried to detain him. Officer Randy Moore deployed his Taser to secure him.

Bains was transported to Doctors Medical Center due to meth intoxication. Charges will be filed for being under the influence of methamphetamine and obstructing a police officer.
