A 35-year-old Ceres man with a criminal history that includes drug possession was rearrested during an early Sunday morning car stop.
Ceres Police Officer Kyle Hatcher was patrolling the area of Lynley and and Glasgow drives at approximately 2:24 a.m. when he stopped the driver of a Lexus for vehicle code violations. Officer Hatcher recognized passenger Jeremy Gooch, 35, of Ceres and knew him to have a felony warrant for his arrest which was confirmed through dispatch. Gooch was arrested for the felony warrant related to weapons charges.
During a search of Gooch’s backpack, Officer Hatcher located a substance suspected of being methamphetamine. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for the felony warrant and possession of a controlled substance with two or more priors.
Gooch was arrested in 2023 and 2024 for possessing meth and leading police on a pursuit.
