Police are on the hunt for the ex-felon who allegedly threatened his ex-wife and kidnapped her for a brief time on Wednesday evening, June 3.

The victim called police at 7:35 p.m. to report that her ex-husband, Jesus Valdovinos, 33, followed her to dd's discounts at 1640 E. Hatch Road in violation of a restraining order. Police responded but could not locate Valdovinos.

A short while later, at 8:10 p.m. the woman's boyfriend called police to report that he had received a call from her stating that the ex was following her. He said Valdovinos jumped in her car and held her at gunpoint and then left from Giddings Street. The boyfriend followed the car and tried to cut it off to get the car stopped. Valdovinos allegedly got out of the car and fired several shots into the air before he fled on foot. The victim then drove off.

Police investigated the shooting scene and located eight shell casings in the street.

Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. Chris Perry said his department is seeking Valdovinos on a warrant for charges that could include being an ex-felon in possession of a handgun, unlawful discharge of a handgun, violation of a restraining order and possibly domestic violence.
