Headlight issue leads to drug arrest

Having a headlight out caught the attention of a Ceres police officer who pulled over Jerry Alvarado, 44, of Ceres, at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6 and found him in possession of illegal drugs.

Alvarado was driving a Honda Civic in the 2200 block of Sequoia Avenue when he was stopped. The officer learned that Alvarado's drivers' license was suspended. The driver also admitted that he had methamphetamine in his front pocket. Alvarado was searched and found with a baggie of methamphetamine stored inside a cigarette package. He was booked for possession of methamphetamine and driving on a suspended license.
