After seeing him collide with a sign and run over the roundabout at Lawrence and Fifth streets, a Ceres Police officer arrested a 36-year-old Hughson man for drunken driving on Tuesday evening, Dec. 13.

At 9:26 p.m., Officer Jessica Graham saw a gray-colored Chevy Avalanche hit the roundabout sign and continue over the roundabout. She stopped the car at Lawrence and Sixth streets where she spoke to Ivan Orta and believed he was intoxicated from an alcoholic beverage.

After failing some field sobriety tests Orta gave a breath test which displayed a blood alcohol content level over twice the legal limit. He was cited for DUI and released to sober adults.
