A 43-year-old Ceres man was arrested Saturday evening after he allegedly fired several rounds while intoxicated on his property in the 3400 block of Cassie Lane.

Officer Coey Henson was on patrol on Morgan Road when he heard gunshots at 9:17 p.m. Henson pulled onto Cassie Lane and listened and traced more reports of gunfire to 3413 Cassie Lane. Henson called for backup and the officers found an intoxicated Jose Romo, 43, of Ceres, who had allegedly fired a 357 caliber revolver from his bedroom window into the backyard. Police found several holes in the masonry brick wall that separates his house from Morgan Road.

Romo was arrested and charged with the negligent discharge of a handgun.
