A 31-year-old Keyes man was arrested Wednesday morning after he was spotted riding a stolen $80,000 tractor across on a ranch.

The alleged theft occurred at around 9 a.m. in the area of Albers Road and the Oakdale-Waterford Highway.

Employees of a ranch in the area saw Kirk Robbins and a woman zipping along an orchard and recognized it as belonging to a neighboring farm. They called 9-1-1 and helped follow and corral the suspect as Robbins tried to slip away into an orchard. Neighbors and employees pinned down Robbins until Sheriff's deputies arrived.

The female suspect was able to get away. She is described as a white adult woman with red hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a camouflage shirt.

Robbins was booked on charges of theft of a tractor, violating parole and vandalism since he did about $5,000 in damage to the almond orchard and damaged the tractor.
