Local arrested for drug sales during stop after illegal U-turn

An illegal U-turn made on Morgan Road in front of an officer just south of Whitmore Avenue is what led to a traffic stop on a man transporting illegal drugs.

At 12:43 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, Officer Eric Gallegos stopped Amador Barajas-Lopez, 26, of Ceres after seeing the illegal move and seeing that he his car have expired registration. Barajas-Lopez was found to be an unlicensed driver. During a search of the vehicle, three prescription pill bottles with the label removed were located, each contained over 250 prescription pills which were found to be hydrocodone and Xanax.

Barajas-Lopez was found to have a large amount of cash in varying denominations in his pockets. Officer Gallegos placed Barajas-Lopez under arrest for possession, sales and transportation of narcotics and for driving without a license. He was booked.
