A 34-year-old Hughson man was arrested Sunday morning after he allegedly stole two $30 lottery tickets from the 7-Eleven at Service and Mitchell roads.

A clerk at the store said Brown came into the store and requested two $30 lottery tickets. As the clerk placed the tickets on the counter, Brown asked for a pack of cigarettes. When the clerk turned around to get them, Brown grabbed the lottery tickets and ran out to a waiting vehicle.

The clerk wrote down the license plate of the car Brown climbed into and called police at 10:30 a.m. Officer Eric Souza checked the area for the vehicle while Officer Matt Berlier drove to the address of the registered owner. Souza found the car and stopped it in the 6000 block of Golden State Blvd. in Keyes.

Brown was a passenger in the vehicle. He admitted stealing the lottery tickets and was arrested for theft and probation violations.
