Police arrested a 26-year-old Modesto man on Wednesday, Nov. 19 who they say hit three parked cars as he tried to run over his girlfriend in a Hatch Road parking lot.

Cesar Nolasco, 26, of Modesto, was arrested and booked on charges of domestic violence, making threats, and hit and run.

Ceres Police Sgt. Jose Berber said Nolasco and his girlfriend were visiting a friend and that he became enraged after she prayed with the friend. He demanded they leave, he said. At 3:30 p.m. they were in the 1300 block of Hatch Road when he drove through the lot and the arguing continued. She became fearful of Nolasco and got out of the 2007 Dodge Magnum. That's when he allegedly chased her down in the parking lot.

Citizens called police and directed officers to the O'Reilly's Auto Parts where he hid after the collision. Officers handcuffed him but he tried to pull away as he was being escorted to the patrol car. He also was heard yelling comments to scare the girlfriend who was on scene.

Nolasco refused to sit in back of the patrol car and was physically forced to sit.
