A 66-year-old Modesto man was arrested Sunday afternoon after he was seen throwing rocks at a Lexus IS250 parked at the Save Mart Shopping Center at 2920 Whitmore Avenue.

Police were called at 2:52 p.m. and arrived on scene and quickly located suspect Paul Applegate near the car he damaged.

Applegate had caused over $1,000 in damage, making his crime a felony. Applegate was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
