Blowing through a stop sign in front of an officer prompted a May 1 traffic stop in which drugs were located and the driver booked for drug sales.

Ceres Police Officer Kao Saecheo pulled over John Poor, 47, of  Modesto, at 1:05 a.m. for the stop sign violation at Lombardo Avenue and Bystrum Road. As the officer approached the car he saw Poor reaching into the passenger side while Officer Matt Berlier noticed drug paraphernalia on the floorboard near the driver’s feet. It consisted of a thin piece of metal with a crystal substance stuck to it and a straw.

After Poor was arrested and removed from the car, the officers found approximately an ounce of methamphetamine, a half-ounce of tar heroin, and rock cocaine and as well as glass smoking pipes, syringes and straws.

Poor was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession/transportation and sales of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.
