A meth-crazed 35-year-old Modesto man was arrested Thursday afternoon for probation violation and possession of drugs.
At 2:48 p.m., Officer Eric Souza was flagged down by fire personnel at Third and North streets regarding a strange acting man who was throwing items at Whitmore Park. Officer Souza located Manuel Gonzales, 35, of Modesto who appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Gonzales initially gave a false name and while searching him, Officer Souza found a bag containing methamphetamine in his pocket. Officer Souza determined Gonzales’ true name and learned he was on probation.
Gonzales was arrested for providing a false name, possession of methamphetamine and a probation violation.
