Metal knuckles land man in jail
Ceres Cop Car

A set of metal knuckles, a form of a weapon, sent a 32-year-old Modesto passenger to jail after a Saturday evening car stop.

Officer Krandall Vandagriff made a 6 p.m. stop on a white Honda Accord in the parking lot of the Hatch Road AM/PM store for vehicle code violations. Because the driver and passenger Jeff Gonzalez, 32, of Modesto, were on searchable probation, a search of the car was conducted. Vandagriff located Gonzalez's
backpack on the floorboard and it contained a set of metal knuckles. No other weapons or contraband was located.

Gonzalez said that his friend found the metal knuckles at work and asked him to hang on to them for him and forget they were in the backpack. Gonzalez was placed under arrest for felony possession of metal knuckles.
