Mitchell Road Subway robbed at gunpoint

An armed robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash after he walked into the Subway on Mitchell Road south of Whitmore Avenue and brandishing a gun on Sunday evening.

The robbery was reported at 9:39 p.m.

The robber, described as a black male about 18 to 20 years old, 5-foot-4, 160 pounds, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a white bandana over his face, pointed a large black and silver handgun at an employee and demanded money. He was given the cash and ran east toward the apartments on Della Drive where he vanished.

The suspect's sweatshirt read "California" across the front, and he was wearing black pants and a black backpack. He appeared to have a scar on his nose that looked like it could have been from a burn.
