Mobile home park crash was DUI related
Ceres Cop Car

A Sunday morning crash into a fence and carport at Voyager's Cove Mobile Home Park on Hatch Road was alcohol-related, Ceres Police said.

The solo crash occurred at 9:01 a.m. with the initial caller believing the driver of the vehicle was possibly drunk.

Police found a white Chevy Silverado pickup that had gone through a wooden fence and struck a carport near space #149. Officer Jesus Salinas located the driver standing near the pickup. Jason Williams, 38, of Modesto, admitted to being the driver and said he was westbound on Hatch Road when he swerved to the right and lost control to avoid hitting a Hispanic male who was pushing a shopping cart in the street.

Williams was uninjured but displayed signs of alcohol impairment. Officer Justin Canatsy conducted a DUI investigation and asked Williams if he was under the influence of any alcohol. Williams said that he had two cans of beer. Williams submitted to a breathalyzer test and the results revealed a 0.21 percent blood alcohol content, nearly three times over the legal limit.

Williams was booked into the County Jail on charges of misdemeanor DUI.
