A Thursday evening police pursuit resulted in the arrest of an 18-year-old Modesto man who racked up a number of felony charges.
Officer Angel Murillo was patrolling the area of Roeding Road and Rose Avenue at 9:05 p.m. when he attempted to stop the driver of a white Hyundai Elantra for vehicle code violations but Joshua Cook, 18, of Modesto decided to flee. The pursuit ended on McGee Road when Cook stopped and ran from the car, leaving his juvenile occupants behind. Cook and a female juvenile subject were later located in the 2700 block of Moore Road and Cook was arrested. All occupants were released at the scene. Police learned later that the Hyundai was an unreported stolen vehicle.
