A Ceres man who was erratically riding his motorcycle at high speeds was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Wednesday evening, May 27.

Sgt. Joe Wren was on patrol at 11:20 p.m. when he spotted a motorcyclist cutting across the Save Mart parking lot at Whitmore Avenue and Mitchell Road at a high rate of speed. The cyclist then steered onto southbound Mitchell Road with Wren following as the rider swerved and changed lanes without the use of turn signals. At the red light at Service Road, Johnathan Post, 32, of Ceres, nearly let the motorcycle topple. Wren made a stop on Post, who pulled into the 7-Eleven parking lot at Service and Mitchell. Wren noticed that Post had blood shot and watery eyes and his breath smelled like alcohol.

After a field sobriety test, Wren determined that Post was under the influence. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
