A 64-year-old Hughson man was arrested during a Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 10 traffic stop in Ceres due to his felony arrest warrant related to drugs 

At 2:25 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Eric Souza was patrolling the 1500 block of Hatch Road when he spotted James Wiggins driving a Kia Sportage and recognized him and the car. Officer Souza also recognized passenger Brittney Lane, 33, of Modesto and knew about her misdemeanor warrants for her arrest.

Officer Souza contacted both subject and arrested them. Officer Souza located a baggy containing a white crystalline substance suspected of being methamphetamine on Wiggins as well as a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine. 

Lane was issued a citation for her warrants but Wiggins was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for the warrant, possession of a controlled substance with two or more priors and possession of drug paraphernalia.
