A 25-year-old Ceres man was arrested for drunken driving early Saturday after a Ceres Police officer watched him drive into an intersection illegally and nearly collide with another vehicle.

At 1:39a.m., Officer Adam Hall was at Fourth Street and Lawrence Avenue when he watched a illegal act of Miguel Magana in his black Toyota pickup. Hall stopped Magana and immediately detected that he was intoxicated.

After a DUI investigation, Magana was arrested for DUI. Magana submitted to a breathalyzer test which showed he was over twice the legal limit to operate a vehicle safely. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
