Pair arrested in pot-related DUI crash
Ceres Cop Car

A 21-year-old Ceres woman and her boyfriend were arrested Saturday for DUI after both allegedly drove drunk before and after a non-injury crash related to their prior edible marijuana ingestion.

Police were dispatched to a non-injury crash at Whitmore and Della avenues at 12:15 p.m. It was determined that Snow Burns, 21, of Ceres was driving westbound on Whitmore Avenue at a high rate of speed when she lost control and crashed into a vehicle in front of hers. A witness then saw Burns switch seats with her boyfriend and passenger Jesse Saechao, 23, of Modesto. As Saechao attempted to move the vehicle out of the road, he collided with a parked vehicle on Della.

Officer Vince Hooper determined Burns did not have a driver's license and that both Burns and Saechao were intoxicated from drug use. Snow admitted they both had consumed edible marijuana. Both were arrested for DUI. They were both transported to Doctors Medical Center for an evidentiary blood draw and then booked into the Public Safety Center. Burns was charged with DUI and driving without a license. Saechao was charged with DUI.
