Police detectives are looking for the man they say conducted an indoor marijuana cultivation operation upstairs in a home in the 3900 block of Sweetgum Drive.

Someone tipped off police about the home and a search warrant was executed at 3:35 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 8. The man who rented the house, Marcus Mata, 33, of Ceres, was not home and has not been located by police.

Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jose Berber said the entire second floor was converted to indoor cultivation with each bedroom set up with 1,000-watt air-cooled lights, capacitors and illegal electrical modifications. Each room bore different sized live marijuana plants.

The first floor of the home was untouched as living quarters.

Anyone with information about the home or the person of interest, Marcus Mata, should call Detectives at 538-5727.
