Repeat DUI offender arrested for drunken driving
Ceres Cop Car

After an officer saw his pickup weaving down the road, Manuel Arreola, 40, of Ceres, was arrested Wednesday evening on charges of drunken driving.

Officer Vince Hooper was on patrol near Whitmore and Moffet avenues when he saw Arreola weave across the lane divider while driving eastbound on Whitmore Avenue in a black Ford F-150 pickup. The truck also had no license. He made a traffic stop at 11:33 p.m. in the parking lot of Taco Bell on Whitmore Avenue.

Hooper detected an odor of alcohol coming from the pickup. Arreola had blood shot watery eyes and his speech was slurred. Arreola stated he had consumed only one beer. A breathalyzer reading had his blood alcohol content at .25 percent - over three times the legal limit.

Arreola's license had been previously suspended for DUI and he was currently on active probation for DUI. He was booked into the County Jail for DUI, driving on a suspended license and probation violation.
