Reports of a man brandishing a gun during an argument with a woman in outside of the Pizza Hut in the 2600 block of Mitchell Road early Saturday led to his arrest for drug possession.

The man reportedly pulled the gun on a male who interceded in the public domestic spat.

Officer Matthew Vierra and other officers were dispatched at 2 a.m. to the area and located Randolph Salazar, 25, of Ceres. Officers spotted the grip of a firearm protruding from his waist band. He was detained and the firearm was found to be a pellet gun which resembled a semi-automatic handgun. Salazar was found with suspected heroin, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

In July 2014 Salazar was arrested and charged with robbery and attempted murder relating to two separate robberies involving stabbings.
