A man who resembled the June 14 robber of the AM/PM at Service and Mitchell was reported by a clerk on Sunday morning in the same store, which led to a two-mile police chase and arrest.

At 11:20 a.m. a store clerk called 911 to report that a man in the store resembled the man who robbed the store weeks earlier. By the time police showed up the man was gone. However, Officer Michael Vierra was on patrol and saw a man matching the description driving in the 2600 block of Don Pedro Road. When the officer attempted to pull the man over in the 1999 Toyota Camry, a pursuit was initiated. The two-mile chase ended when the suspect lost control and crashed into bushes in front of 2552 Fourth Street.

Suspect Isaac Diaalvarez, 29, of Ceres, bailed on foot and was chased by Vierra over several residential fences. Vierra caught up to Diaalvarez and held him at gunpoint until backup arrived.

Diaalvarez was arrested and charged with leading police on a pursuit, delaying an officer, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and violation of probation.
