Benjamin Van Vuren, 33, of Salida was arrested in Ceres for drunken driving early Sunday after he was spotted driving down the road, weaving and blowing through a stop sign at Service and Morgan roads.

The arrest came during a 2:02 a.m. traffic stop after Officer Freddie Ortiz followed Van Vuren westbound on Service Road and saw his erratic driving. Van Vuren displayed symptoms of alcohol intoxication. At the conclusion of a DUI investigation, he was arrested for driving under the influence. His blood alcohol level was found to be two and a half times the legal limit.
