Salida woman arrested for stealing motorcycle, meth possession

A 37-year-old Salida woman was arrested on Tuesday evening, Sept. 23 after she was stopped while riding on a stolen motorcycle.

At 10:04 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Angel Diaz was in the area of Crows Landing Road and South Seventh Street when he stopped Brenda Pinkevich riding a grey-colored motorcycle for vehicle code violations. A records check revealed the motorcycle was reported stolen. Pinkevich was arrested and a search of her belongings turned up a baggy containing a white crystalline substance suspected of being methamphetamine.

Pinkevich, who had two or more prior convictions for theft, was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and theft with two or more priors.
