Ceres Cop Car

A shooting in the area of Nadine and Richland avenues on Friday afternoon resulted in bullets hitting three cars and nearly striking a 13-year-old girl standing on the corner.

The shooting, which was reported at 4:53 p.m., occurred when someone in a black Ford Fusion with paper plates "JS Auto" shot at another vehicle while eastbound on Nadine near Musick Avenue. The other vehicle was possibly a white truck.

Officers located at least 10 9-mm and .40-caliber shell casings scattered along Nadine and one bullet jacket at the northeast corner of Nadine and Richland where the teen was standing when shots rang out. She was transported to hospital after her family arrived and she passed out due to having asthma.

The suspects in the Ford were described as white male adult, 30 to 40 years old, full red beard, wearing a white shirt, while the other was a Hispanic man with a goatee. The vehicle was last seen traveling northbound on Richland Avenue.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call Ceres Police Detectives at 538-5672.
