copteaserbox .tif

Approximately five to six large caliber rounds were fired into an occupied home in the 1200 block of San Pedro Avenue and the residents say they have no idea why they were targeted.

The shooting occurred at around 2 a.m. on Friday. The homeowners were asleep and heard glass break from a round that penetrated the front window. A security worker heard the volley of shots and called police too.

Police have no suspects but did find .40-caliber shell casings and one unspent live round in the street. Police found one exterior wall hit with one bullet on the floor of the kitchen. A vehicle outside had also been damaged by a bullet.
Nobody inside the house was hit.

Anyone with information on the shooting or the suspects is urged to report what they know to Ceres Police at 538-5713.
