Stanislaus County sheriff's detectives are hoping the public can help them identify the person who lit a house fire in south Modesto that caused resident Jonathan Couch to suffer second- and third-degree burns on most of his body.

The fire broke out at approximately 10:50 p.m. in the 300 block of Glenn Avenue, between Crows Landing Road and Seattle Street.

Couch was burned as he escaped his burning home.
With little suspect information, the arson is being investigated as an attempted homicide.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Frank Soria at 525-7080 or Crime Stoppers at 521-4636.
