Stabbing leaves one dead in Hughson
Saturday altercation turns deadly on Charles Street

A 42-year-old Hughson man was fatally stabbed during a Saturday evening domestic fight in the 200 block of Charles Street.

The victim was identified as Jesus Duarte.

Patrol officers with the Hughson Police Services were dispatched to the home at 6 p.m. for a report of an assault and battery. Deputies located the mortally wounded Duarte in need of medical aid with bystanders trying to help him. Paramedics began treating him but he died in route to a local hospital.

Stanislaus County Sheriff’s detectives are working to identify the responsible party or parties. The public is urged to contact Detective Hickman at 525-7042 if they have information to share. Callers may also choose to remain anonymous by submitting their tips to Crime Stoppers at 521-4636.
