Stockton man runs from scene of DUI crash

A 21-year-old Stockton man was arrested Sunday morning after he was seen colliding into a parked Nissan pickup in the 3900 block of Central Avenue.

At 5:21 a.m., Officer Adam Hall was patrolling the area and saw a Volkswagen Passat hit the pickup, and the driver, LeDenne Drake, Jr., climb out and run into the Colony Park Mobile Home Park at 3939 S. Central Avenue. Drake ran into the backyard of space #148 where police found him hiding. He appeared to be intoxicated and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Drake was also positively identified as the suspect in a prior domestic violence battery and assault with a deadly weapon case at Whitmore Avenue and Crowslanding Road. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, corporal injury to a spouse/cohabitant, driving under the influence, obstructing/resisting an officer, and driving with a suspended driver’s license.
