Stolen vehicle recovered, suspect arrested

 A Ceres parolee was arrested for auto theft on Thursday afternoon, April 2 and the vehicle he stole quickly returned to its owner.

At 3:50 p.m., Officer Kao Saechao was taking the report of a stolen vehicle when he heard Officer, Eric Souza being dispatched to a suspicious incident in the 2400 block of Trina Lane where a male was trying to disable an alarm on a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle. 

Saechao notified Souza about the stolen vehicle report he was taking. Officer Souza confirmed that it was the same vehicle. Gary Gutierrez, 36, of Ceres, was ordered out of the driver’s seat and detained.  He was in possession of a screwdriver and a shaved key.

Gutierrez was booked for auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools and parole violations.
