Officer Eric Gallegos made a Friday evening traffic stop on a driver for a vehicle code violation at Herndon and Holm but movement inside the car was a tip-off that something suspicious was occurring.

Gallegos called for backup and then removed Richard Williams, 28, of Modesto, from the car and performed a search. A small handgun was located in his pocket.

Williams was charged with possession of a concealed handgun, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The incident occurred at 11:44 p.m.
