Residents of a home in the 2800 block of Alphonse Drive had to subdue a crazy-acting vandal for police after he started breaking out the windows of their house Thursday evening.

Police said that Jimmie Gray, 34, of Modesto, was under influence of methamphetamine and acting crazy at 9:50 p.m. when he started breaking the windows of the house belonging to complete strangers. The occupants had to tackle Gray to the ground and held him until police arrived.

Gray was treated on the scene by paramedics for lacerations to his hand and he refused treatment at a hospital. Police booked him into the Stanislaus County Jail on charges of felony vandalism and parole violation.
