Police were unable to prove that Claudio Cortez Jr., 25, of Ceres, was burglarizing Valley Balancing & Speed Equipment on Herndon Road Monday evening but they took him to jail on multiple warrants for his arrest issued by Turlock Police Department.

At 5:35 p.m., an employee of the shop called 911 to report a man, who fit the description of a suspect that burglarized the business on Sunday morning, hanging around the building. Police found Cortez on the southwest side of 1900 Herndon, hiding behind large concrete barriers. Located near him was a pink suitcase filled with tools. Cortez denied they were his and police  were unable to determine the owner.  They were booked at the Ceres Police Department as found property.

Cortez was booked into jail for the warrants.
