Tax excuse doesn't fly for unlicensed driver
Ceres Cop Car

A 19-year-old Turlock man who was driving without a license and using the excuse that he left it with his mom so she could do his taxes was arrested Monday evening, April 3. He faces an added charge of resisting or obstructing a police officer after he struggled with Officer Matt Berlier.

Brian Viveros was pulled over by Berlier at 10:20 p.m. at Herndon and Nadine avenues. When the officer asked Viveros for his license, he provided the phony excuse as Berlier learned that he had never been issued a driver's license. Viveros was asked to get out of the car but refused, grabbing ahold of the inside door handle. Belier was able to open the door and a brief struggle ensued as the driver was taken into custody.

Viveros was booked for driving without a license and resisting or obstructing a police officer.
