A teen boy was arrested early Tuesday, June 4 after he was seen speeding by Ceres Police Sgt. Vince Hooper. After he was pulled over he tried switching seats with his female passenger.

The incident started at 12:18 a.m. when Hooper saw a silver BMW traveling northbound on Mitchell Road at over 80 mph. Sgt. Hooper pulled behind the vehicle, which slowed to about 30 mph. Sgt. Hooper conducted a vehicle stop as the BMW turn into the Walmart parking lot and then the McDonald’s drive thru lane. Over the loud speaker Sgt. Hooper ordered the driver to back out of the drive thru. The male driver then switched seats with the female passenger who backed up the car.

Sgt. Hooper determined that the juvenile was intoxicated after he failed a field sobriety test. The unlicensed driver was cited for DUI and driving without a license before releasing him to an adult guardian.

The juvenile female passenger was driven home and released to her parents.
