Johnny Poston Jr., 47, of Ceres, was cited for obstructing or delaying an officer after he was stopped while trespassing on vacant property in the 1700 block of Myrtlewood Drive on Monday evening, Nov. 24.

Neighbors living on the block reported a suspicious man who arrived on a bike and who entered the back yard. Officers arrived and heard Poston walking around in the yard and then toward a side gate. When Poston saw the officer he allegedly ran back into the backyard in an attempt to get away but other officers had him surrounded.

Poston told officers that he knew an officer was in the front and attempted to hide some marijuana that he was carrying. The marijuana was not found.

Poston claimed he needed a place to sleep for the night.
