A Monday morning traffic stop made on a blue Volkswagen Atlas that was reported stolen resulted in the arrest of its 37-year-old driver.

At approximately 6:28 a.m., Officer Ian Perry was patrolling the 2500 block of Whitmore Avenue when he located the stolen vehicle and called for additional units. Together they assisted in a high-risk stop and arrested Manuel Morales, 37, of Tucson, Ariz.

Morales was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and committing a crime while out of jail on bail.
