A June 25 vehicle stop resulted in the arrests of two men who were both in possession of loaded handguns.
At approximately 8:45 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Angel Diaz was in the area of Latimer Avenue and South Ninth Street when he pulled over the driver of a Chevrolet Impala for vehicle code violations. Driver Joseph Estrada, 22, of Modesto was unlicensed to drive and had a loaded firearm in his waistband with a high capacity clip. When he was searched, the officer located a second high-capacity magazine in his pocket.
Joseph Estrada was arrested for carrying a loaded firearm not registered to him, carrying a loaded firearm on his person, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle and possession of high-capacity magazines.
Passenger Daniel Estrada, 51, also of Modesto, was on searchable probation for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Both were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
