A 33-year-old Ceres man was arrested for robbery on Tuesday afternoon, April 21 after he allegedly stole beer from the AM/PM at Whitmore Avenue and Ninth Street and pulled a knife on a clerk.

Officer Alex Ochoa was dispatched to the store at 2:42 p.m. after it was reported that Alejandro Medina stole a 12-pack of beer and threated employees with a knife when they tried to stop him. Employees last saw Ochoa running southbound on Ninth Street and provided police with a physical and clothing description.

Officer Ochoa began checking the area and was flagged down by a citizen who saw a man running with the beer to a residence on Melanie Court. Ochoa spotted him and detained him without incident.

The stolen beer was in the front yard  where Medina was arrested and the knife was found in his pocket. He was positively identified by witnesses.
